#DailyDevotion Jesus Deserves All Our Praise And Glory

Read Rev 5:1–14
Rev 5:9-10 And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, (10) and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.”
Rev 5:12-13 saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” (13) And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”
An impressive praise of our Lord Jesus Christ. Note the reason for the praise. He was slain and by his blood he ransomed people from every tribe, language and tongue. In other words, no one is excepted. Jesus’ blood ransomed all people. There is no special people excepting those who believe in the Lamb. But you can always be certain that the blood of Jesus was shed for you.
Note the purpose of this ransoming. We are ransomed to be a kingdom and priest to our God to reign on earth. We are a kingdom. Christ reigns even now in our hearts who have faith in Christ. The kingdom of God is not a democracy. Jesus is king. And we are priest. Priest offer prayers, petitions, supplications, praise and thanksgiving. They offer sacrifices—not that bloody sacrifices will be needed then, just sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving. Finally, we reign! We reign on Earth. Christ recreates the world and we’re not floating around on clouds plucking harps. We’re on earth, a new earth, but earth. We will be reigning over creation. Even now we are seated in the heavenly places with Christ Jesus reigning in and through him.
Finally praise due to God and God as Man is given. Jesus is the Lamb who was slain before the foundation of the world. God’s plan to save us was established before he even created it. Jesus because he is slain on behalf of creation is worthy. Worthy of what? Power, wealth, wisdom, might, honor, glory and blessing forever and ever is due him. This is the same glory of the Father. Jesus is here equalized to the Father. He was always equal to the Father before his incarnation. Now he receives this glory in his flesh.
Everyone and everything gets in on the praising of Christ. As Jesus said as he entered into Jerusalem, even the rocks would praise him if the children ceased. Creation is alive. The trees clap their hands, the rivers and brooks sing his praises, the spheres (planets) make melody. The birds, fish, amoebas all get in on the act. Creation is not static. We should just as well give such praise to our Savior daily.
Lord Jesus Christ, all praise, glory, dominion, might, wisdom and honor belong to you for you have sacrificed yourself for those who do not deserve such a salvation. Give us such faith that we praise you always for all you have done for all creation by your suffering, death and resurrection. Amen.
