#DailyDevotion Some Will Rise To Everlasting Life. Some Will Rise To Everlasting Shame.

Easter Monday

Daniel 12:1c–3

1c At that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the book. 2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

If you think the times are tough today the time of Christ return will be worse. Then again, maybe are in the days of Christ’s return. But it will happen in those times that Jesus Christ will return on the clouds will all his holy angels and then the end will be here.

At that time everyone whose name is written in the Lamb’s book of life will be delivered, all those who trusted in the promises of the Lord in the Old and New Testaments. Those whom God has elected to salvation out of the mass of fallen humanity (who rebelled against the Lord and his command and promises) will be delivered.

When Christ Jesus returns, everyone will be raised from the dead or transformed into the risen body of Christ, for when Christ arose from the dead he stood in the place of sinful Adam who brought death into the world. We are one in Adam; we are one in Christ. But some will rise to everlasting life and some to everlasting shame and contempt. Those who believed in Jesus, in God’s promises are those who rise to everlasting life. We are raise to live with God in his glory in the new heavens and the new earth. The one who believed in the promises will be bright like the sky. Those who delivered those promises like the stars above. And they will be with the Lord Jesus Christ forever.

Those who did wickedness, who rebelled against their Creator and those who did not believe the promises given them they rise only to be cast into the Lake of Fire, prepared by God to punish the angels who rebelled against him. They believed and followed those angels in life so they follow them into the place of their torment.

So where do you want to be on that day? Believe God’s promise, all who trust in the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, that he is their salvation and call upon his name shall be raised to ever lasting life.

Heavenly Father, grant us such faith in your Son Jesus Christ that on the day of return, we may be found with the many raised to everlasting life to live with him in our new resurrected bodies in glory to all eternity. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
